"You’re not an apology letter, you’re a thank-you note just waiting to happen." ~Hannah Brencher

Dale: You thought I looked like some kind of freak?
Allison: We misjudged you Dale. I'm... I'm really sorry.
Dale: Don't be sorry, it's my fault. I should have known if a guy like me talked to a girl like you, somebody would end up dead.

I just read the most amazing blog post at hannahbrencher.com it was everything I needed to hear, and I just might believe what she's saying. (The post is here - get a tissue.)

Especially this part - most definitely especially this part :
"Struggles are going to make you a fighter. Where I come from, we kiss the dirty ground for struggles. They are going to make your story that much resilient. You’re not going to survive them, you are going to absolutely obliterate them."

and especially this part too :

"And maybe I’ve got no street cred, no authority, no weight in saying this, but I’m not gonna let you be the world’s largest living & breathing apology. I’m not gonna let you say “sorry” any longer– as if “sorry” were your second language– for things no human should ever have to apologize for. Say sorry when you’ve hurt someone. Say sorry when you’ve really misplaced your words and actions. But stop saying sorry for standing there and showing up to life everyday. You’re not an apology letter, you’re a thank-you note just waiting to happen."

The Philippines storm has me quite worried about a pen pal of mine. SRJM lives in Iloilo City, and I haven't heard any news on how that area fared after the storm. I don't hear from SRJM often - I'm sure she's a busy woman - but that doesn't _EVER_ stop me from worrying about her. All of my pen pals are precious and important to me, and I hate hearing that there was a disaster in their area without having a quick way to check on them. I'm crossing everything, and hoping that she's ok.

My office just keeps getting weirder and weirder. We're currently having the floors re-done, and some parts of the office are "out of order / off limits" until they're done - one of them being the mens' room. Well, Drunk Sales Rep (for our sister company) just needed to "pee" so he fucked up the tilers work while trying to get into the mens' room. Had he taken the time out of his drunken stupor to _LOOK_ he'd have seen that he can't get into that room without fucking up their work. I can't _STAND_ Drunk Sales Rep. - he's always obnoxious and does _NOT_ look like he knows what he's talking about. I'm not even kidding that 90% of the time he's totally shitfaced.

I also heard that the New Warehouse Manager (NWM) is either a member of the Aryan Brotherhood or a Skinhead. Neither of which make me incredibly comfortable around him, but I have no proof other than word of mouth from people I trust, and a look at one of his tattoos. I said to Sawyer that NWM has been nothing but polite to me, and Sawyer replied "Yeah, you're white." Fair point! (I'm giving NWM the benefit of the doubt, and saying that if he was Aryan Brotherhood or a skinhead - he's reformed. I am quite naive and delusional, but I have to work with these people, so that's how I get through the day here.) I'm afraid that if I ask anyone that people will say that I'm spreading rumors - which I do NOT want to do - like I said NWM is nice to me, and, as far as I can tell, everyone else, so I'm just trying to make a decision on what I believe.

Sawyer & I got to visit the girls this past Sunday. I held K while Sawyer held D. K was quite squirmy and adorable, and D was zonked out on Sawyer's lap. I didn't get many faces from K, but she did smirk when I would pretend to eat her little fist. She had the hiccups for awhile, and it was adorable. She also seemed to be watching the football that L&J had on. It was awesome holding these tiny people that I've loved so much since the second I heard they were coming. I can't imagine life without them - which I'm sure sounds super cheesy from their Aunt, but it is what it is. I'm already spoiling them, and I want to spoil L&J too. For Christmas I would love to spoil L&J with restaurant gift cards, and such and all I'd like in return is the chance to snuggle the girls some more - seriously.

While I was holding K she put her little fist up in the air and I said "Fight the power!" L lost it. :) It was so funny to see this tiny little fist up in the air. She also gave L some fist bumps while she was snoozing.

(Oh - I have to record this because it is ridiculously funny to me. While Sawyer was holding D she farted! Not a dainty little baby fart, but a loud MAN fart! It was hilarious!)

Edited to add: I just got back from the dentist. I had crowns put on my two front teeth after having a root canal done on the left one years ago, and an emergency root canal on the right one. Anyway - on Saturday I got a letter in the mail from my insurance saying that they were denying the claim because "the crowns were not medically necessary". I cried A LOT on Saturday, and then today, when I talked to my dentist, I felt silly for crying. My dentist, his assistant, and their receptionist all say they're sure that the insurance will pay - that they are not dentists, and probably didn't even see the root canals on the x-rays.

My dentist told me about a time that he found a spot on a patients jaw that he wanted them to see a specialist about to get a biopsy. The insurance said there was nothing wrong, and the patient didn't need to see a specialist. After going back and forth awhile, my dentist called the insurance to talk to them. He asked if the person denying the claim is a dentist - no - do they have dental training - no, just some weekend classes. I guess they didn't see the spot on the patients jaw. Well, it turned out to be cancer! Think of all the time the insurance _wasted_ dicking around!

All that to say - I _ADORE_ my dentist's office, and I hope I never have to change. I _KNOW_ they'll fight this denial until it's paid - which will hopefully be sooner than later!
