Friday Four - December 23, 2016

Friday Four

A collection of 4 things that have been on my mind lately.

1.) Christmas
I am _SO_ not in the mood for Christmas this year. I'm glad it's almost over. We basically have a Festivus pole up (does an un-decorated Christmas tree count?). I'm about to start airing grievances. Nothing is wrapped, there are only a few decorations out, and I'm over it. My dream is to go through all of our Christmas decor and donate what we don't love anymore. We'll see if that ever happens. I feel like the deck in spring would be a good place/time to do it. We have so many decorations and I'm over a good deal of them.

2.) Heart
After wearing that stupid heart monitor for what felt like forever, I got a call from my Cardiologist. He said they noticed something unusual and wanted me to come in ASAP to discuss it. I asked Sawyer to come along with me because I was scared & nervous. The doctor I saw wasn't my usual guy, and he said there's no big deal and to just keep drinking water. That didn't sit right with me so I called and found out I have Supra-ventricular tachycardia (SVT). That completely explains the chest pains I was having. I now need to see _ANOTHER_ specialist (an Electrophysiologist). The options for fixing the SVT are medication (which my Cardiologist is leaning away from because it lowers blood pressure - not good when you have POTS), or burning it. (BURNING IT! MY HEART! BURNING MY HEART!) Sawyer will go to the consultation with me because I am TERRIFIED. If I think about it too much I get lightheaded and dizzy. I trust my doctors so I'll do what he suggests, but if you think I won't need a Xanax before the procedure you are WRONG (assuming, of course, I'm even _allowed_ Xanax.) Nobody at work but my boss knows and I'm keeping it that way. I have enough issues that everyone already knows about so what's keeping one a secret?

3.) Gran
Gran isn't doing well (again? still?). She's having trouble swallowing. A nurse of Gran's told Mother-in-Law that "people don't linger in this stage". We're planning to go up the weekend after Christmas to see Gran & Paw again before...well, lets not go there. I mean, sometimes I think that going there would be best for Granny, but well, I mean - she'd be gone; less Alzheimer's issues, but gone none the less. Getting old sucks.

4.) Hockey
Sawyer & I are going to see the Caps play this season! They're playing a team I _REALLY_ wanted to see them play so I'm super excited. I'm hoping that Big Brother gives us tickets to a game as Sawyer said he forgot to get Bears' tickets for me for Christmas. Once I find out if Big Brother is giving us tickets I can go order more! We always try to see a game around Sawyer's birthday, and another game that I just want to see. I have a goal to see the Bears' play every team in the AHL. I'd love to have the same goal for the Caps but when tickets are 10x what tickets to the Bears are it's a harder dream to accomplish.
