"The key to growth is the introduction of higher dimensions of consciousness into our awareness.” Lao Tzu

I feel like I should make an introduction here. I've had a good many blogs in the past, but with the new year starting, I want to actually _keep up_ with one. :)

I'd like to keep this journal semi-private in that I don't want anyone to stumble upon it; I want to lead people here. I won't be using real names for anyone in my life (most _certainly_ not last names), so everyone will have a nickname, but you won't necessarily know that it's a nickname.

Here we go... introduction...

My name is "Alice". I have been married to my husband, "Sawyer", since 2009. We moved to our current state in 2006, and bought our first home in 2010. We have 2 cats, and I recently (December 30, 2011) adopted a Roborovski Dwarf hamster (Robo Dwarf for short). Our pets are our children, and we treat them as such.

Sawyer graduated from a college on the East Coast in the spring of 2006. He is very good at what he does, and works very hard. He is funny, smart, and goofy. He knows how to make me laugh, and is always there to hug me when I need it. I don't know where I'd be without him, but I know I wouldn't love AHL/NHL hockey! :)

Neither Sawyer, nor I have any desire for human children. We don't enjoy children, and don't want our lives to change with the addition of them to our family. Our family feels complete now. I will get into being child-free at a later date, but since this is an introduction, I felt it is important to mention.

We love to travel, and have big travel plans for our 5th wedding anniversary. Every other year Sawyer & I travel north with his family (parents & maternal-grandparents - sometimes his sister & her SO). This year (2012) is one of those years.

Sawyer& I are both Athiests, and identify most with Democrats. We aren't hardcore into politics, but we are hardcore Athiests (and Environmentalists). Please don't question or be rude about my lack of religion, and I won't question or be rude about your religion.

I believe in marriage equality, and am Pro-choice. I will blog more on each of those things eventually. If you have any questions please feel free to ask me - politely. You don't have to agree with me, but I will not take verbal abuse about my views.

  1. oh what are you plans for your 5 year anniversary? Our 5 year anniversary was kinda sad actually, we weren't able to go or do anything, I hope our 10 year is much more memorable...and our 6th, 7th, 8th, & 9th....and so on...lol. <3
