A few Sundays ago Sawyer & I went to a local nursery that we love and bought 6 fruit tress (2 Apple, 2 Cherry, and 2 Pear) to go with the 8 blueberry bushes we bought a few weeks before (which makes our total 12 blueberry bushes!). Two weekends ago we went to 2 plant sales for local organizations. Sawyer also planted our "nursery garden" of Red Buds that we got from the Arbor Day Foundation. They're just twigs now, but in a couple of years they'll be ready to plant in their permanent homes, and we'll plant something else in the "nursery garden". We bought a Fringe Tree, some purple and yellow cone-flowers, a couple of "wild" bleeding hearts, milkweed, and some other things I can't remember. The Fringe tree is for the front yard between the two trees that are there now. The cone-flowers and bleeding hearts are for one of the wall beds (the top one).
Next year I'm hoping to plant a garden, strawberries, and some raspberry bushes. I'd also like to try growing grapes, sweet potatoes, and peanuts. We're also talking about getting PawPaw trees, but we need to taste them first. I also want a lemon tree (lemons go well with blueberries), but I don't know if they'll thrive here. I did find a Meyer Lemon Tree for sale on Amazon. I'm thinking of getting one for my work office.
Last weekend we went to Chicoteague with Sawyer's parents, his sister and her husband for a long weekend. It was alright. Katie & Rob caught 5 crabs (2 with a fishing pole, and 3 with an old crab pot). We saw some ponies (with babies), a Bald Eagle, and _lots_ of Egrets. I don't need to go back again.
