The Lion King - June 22, 2013

This is the post office right by the train station. I thought it looked neat.

The Minskioff theater is really neat - the show is on the 3rd floor!

The show was amazing. Rafiki was - by far - my favorite character. The actress spoke a bit in the African language that uses clicks which really impressed me because I can't imagine it's an easy language to learn if you're not raised speaking it (although, come to think of it, the actress is African - maybe she did grow up around it!). The costumes were amazing. There were some darker parts of the play which I think are darker live than they are in the Disney movie. I loved that the cast surrounded the audience - there were even actors up on the balcony! It was _AMAZING_. If you want to see a play on Broadway, but aren't sure what to see - definitely consider The Lion King!

I plan to write to the actress that plays Rafiki and ask for an autograph. I'll let you know if anything comes of it (like it did for Gavin Lee [Bert from Mary Poppins]).

I'm very grateful to Sawyer and his parents for gifting me tickets for Christmas!
