“The only way to keep your health is to eat what you don't want, drink what you don't like, and do what you'd rather not.” ~Mark Twain

I thought I'd do a bit of a health update.

*** Brain - I had an MRI done last weekend of my brain, cervical spine, thoracic spine, and lumbar area - both with and without contrast. I was in the machine for about 2 hours and it was _AWFUL_. I'm hoping that the results come out well, because it's nearly impossible to be still for 2 hours in an MRI tube. I did decide that if I need another MRI in the future (and if I do have MS there will be more MRIs) I am finding an Open MRI place. I didn't think I was claustrophobic until I had to spend 2 hours in that hot tube!

*** Sleep Study - My neurologist wants me to have a sleep study with Narcolepsy testing done, and I was _finally_ able to schedule that. I guess the place he uses only has weekend studies once a month. I can't take any more time off of work (I'm out of vacation & sick days with our upcoming vacation), so I needed a Friday - Saturday test date. They called me today with on in the second week of October. SIGN ME UP! Better late than never. It's still before my follow up with my Neurologist any way, so it all works out.

*** Hips - The pain I had earlier this year is back. I'm thinking about making an appointment with my PT office to get back into shape for vacation. I'm hoping that whatever the blood test and MRI shows will also help explain some of my joint problems.

*** Depression / Anxiety - Still the same really. I think my depression is a bit of waiting to hear if I have a diagnosis or not, and my normal chemical imbalance. I'm on a higher dose of Brintellix, so we'll see what happens there. My psychiatrist did prescribe something for anxiety to be taken as needed, so that's helpful. I have to remember to actually keep it with me though. _smirk_

In vacation news we're almost there! We're flying from the East Coast to Chicago to San Francisco. We've purchased all that needs to be purchased (except for cat food - which we'll pick up before we drop the cats off with their Grammy & Pop), now we just have to pack. I've started packing, but I'm trying to space it out so I don't drive myself bonkers.

I'm thinking of getting a tattoo that says "Shiny and Chrome". Merging two of my favorite things - Firefly & Mad Max: Fury Road. _smirk_ My other idea for Mad Max: Fury Road is "I am awaited".
