Friday Four
A collection of 4 things that have been on my mind lately.
1.) Snow
Winter Storm Jonas is headed our way here in the Old Line State. We're expected to get 24" of snow, AND 50 mph winds! This is gonna be fun!
2.) NWHL
I just read that there is now a National Women's Hockey League! Personally I'm a fan of the New York Riveters. I hope that the league really takes hold and becomes something AMAZING! I do have a bit of an issue with the names of two of the teams - the Buffalo Beauts, and the Connecticut Whale. I can understand the Whale as they are probably linked to the NHL's Hartford Whalers. I don't know if *I'd* want to be called a Whale, but that's me. The Buffalo Beauts has it's obvious problems - defining women by their looks. I'm also annoyed by the salary cap ($270,000 vs. the MILLIONS that NHL players make), and the starting salary ($15,000), AND the fact that the ladies have to work other jobs because they can't play hockey full time and survive. Despite those issues, I'm excited. I hope to see a game at some point, and I'm planning on buying a New York Riveters hoodie.
3.) Engagement Ring Update
My engagement ring was sent out last week to have that diamond replaced. It feels so weird to not have my rings on my finger (my engagement ring and wedding band are soldered together). I miss them.
4.) Customers
I have to mantra's when it comes to the customers I serve. 1 - "A lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on mine." and 2 - "This job would be great if it wasn't for all of these fucking customers" - Clerks. This week has been crazy at work. On Tuesday & Wednesday there was a film crew here to film promotional videos. (Yes, I'm in it.) Now because of the storm we can't ship, so we have to alert customers and try to get them to be ok with shipping on Monday (hopefully). I'm going crazy. My Ocular Migraines have picked up, and I'm struggling.
