“Dante believed God punished suicides by trapping the person's spirit in a tree trunk. On Judgement Day, they were the only sinners who didn't get their souls back, because they tried to get rid of them once before.” ~Jodi Picoult

On Saturday (February 9th, 2013) Sawyer & I went to see the Hershey Bears' play the Binghamton Senators. The Bears beat Senators 4 - 3. We had really good seats, and the Bears' actually WON! Up until Saturday we'd never seen them win. We're trying to decide if Big Brother is a good luck charm or not (he gave us the tickets for Christmas).

We had dinner at a really good restaurant - Isaac's Deli. The food was really good, the staff was excellent, and they meet our "moral needs". (Meaning that they take care of their employees [employees only have to work 25 hours/week to receive health insurance!], their customers, and haven't been on the news saying something bigoted/hate-filled/disrespectful.) We've actually decided to make this restaurant our "game day" restaurant! It's really close to the Giant Center, and, as mentioned above, a great place to eat.

I have another joke for the next time we're at the Birdwatcher's General Store on Cape Cod! "If you lose your khakis you have no pants, but if someone from Boston loses their khakis their car won't start." That one is from Sawyer, but he's too chicken to tell them a really bad joke, so it's up to me!

Have you ever read a book, remembered the storyline but forgot the title and then picked up a book that you _swear_ you've never read only to read the aforementioned storyline in the blurb on the back? I think I'll re-read the book anyway (and make a note of it!). I was reading The Hobbit, but I'm having trouble getting into it. I know I won't be able to get into The Vampire Lestat, or The Marvelous Land of Oz (back into this one - I've already started it), so I thought a good Jodi Picoult book would be a quick easy read. I want to read more, but I don't have the brain-space right now for heavy, or detailed books. Jodi Picoult books are pretty quick reads but they have an easy to follow and good story.
