"There is more treasure in books than in all the pirate's loot on Treasure Island.” ~Walt Disney

I've decided to post recipes on Tuesdays (Tasty Tuesdays!). Mostly for my own records / enjoyment.

Today was day 2 with no caffeine, but my head is killing me, so I got a can of Dr. Pepper from the soda machine. I'm feeling a bit guilty about it, but I have the headache, and I'm nauseous, and I'm having trouble focusing. I am disappointed in myself, but a can of soda is much different than a Big Gulp. I also took 2 Ibuprofen, to help with the headache. This may be _much_ harder than I thought! I'm not going to get too mad at myself for giving in and having a soda though, because in the long run it's not going to kill me, or stop my progress.

I decided that the only times I'll get a soda / caffeinated soda is when Sawyer & I go out to eat. I think that's reasonable enough. I also want to make sure that I ask for a glass of water too, so that I don't get a refill on my soda. It's going to be hard to get to that place, but I'm willing to work at it.

Tonight Sawyer & I are having Greek for dinner. I'm picking it up from a local hole-in-the-wall type place after work.  Last night Sawyer made spaghetti squash with sauteed onions, garlic and cherry tomatoes, and roasted asparagus with balsamic vinegar and Parmesan. It was yummy! We'll be having left overs tomorrow night.

Last night Sawyer & I watched The Final Cut. It was an interesting concept. I can say for sure that I would not choose that option for my children, but that I would let them decide if they wanted it when they got older. I have often thought how neat it would be to be able to use my eyes and brain as a camera.

The photography outing that was scheduled for yesterday is being rescheduled. Two of the members are sick, and there were only 4 of us confirmed as going. I'm glad for the change because I was able to get a lot of work done yesterday.

I'm still reading Alice in Deadland, and I found a few typos. I don't know why but I get incredibly annoyed by typos in books (and on Trivial Pursuit cards). It happens, but with Alice in Deadland it seems like it happens because the book is poorly written. It's not a bad book, it's just written as if a teen-ager were writing it. It's sort of stream of conscience instead of well rounded and thought out paragraphs. I don't know how to explain it otherwise. It's not a disappointing read by any means, but it's just a fluff book to me.

I just bought my first John Lennon book! John Lennon The Life. I haven't started it yet, but I'm looking forward to it. It's a thick book, so I hope to learn a lot. Sawyer was confused as to why I didn't buy it for my Kindle, and I explained that since it's about John Lennon I prefer to have the book. It's sort of hard to explain.

A coworker of mine showed me a flyer for clowns he picked up this weekend. First he asked how I felt about clowns, and when I told him they scare the poop out of me he showed me the flyer. _Oh_my_word_ those were some freaky clowns! He then threw the flyer into my recycle bin and I said "You're not leaving that there!!!" and he laughed. He said he knew I'd say that - so he shredded it! That exchange made my afternoon.

  1. *hugs* Good for you trying to stop caffeine consumption. I would not make it through work without my caffeine.

I haven't seen "The Final Cut", but I will definitely give it a try *checking Netflix* :( They do not have it live streaming...I'll have to find it elsewhere.

I've had Greek food, but it's been a really long time, from what I remember, it is good!

I look forward to your recipe sharing!
