Congratulations to President Obama who is being sworn in for his second term today. I'd love to make it to an inauguration sometime, but I hate the crush of people that it would include. Maybe some day. Maybe for the first female president!

Hockey is finally back! The Caps 2013 Season Opener - Caps vs. Tampa Bay Caps - was a disappointment. The Caps lost 6-3. I watched the entire game - which is rare - and was happy with the way the Caps played, but was very sad they lost. Hopefully they win their next game (tomorrow vs. Winnipeg) since it's on home ice.

Last week I watched Treasure Island with Eddie Izzard (via Netflix instant). I liked it quite a bit. I really liked that there wasn't any "pirate talk" (Arr!s, Aye's, etc.). It made it more realistic to me. I do want to watch it again, as I'm fairly certain that I missed a good portion of the story line as I was only half watching.

I spoke with my Mom on Friday - she asked about my weight again. (Can I talk about my title quote for a second? I _LOVE_ Delta Burke. Ya know what? She's got it right. I'm not a size 6 - never have been - and I don't need to be to be happy or successful.) Yes, I'm overweight, and it doesn't make me look good. I KNOW THIS. She's always asking about my weight - every time I see her or talk to her. I'm sure she does it out of love and concern, but she's not exactly skinny (skinny wouldn't look good on my Mom), so why the pressure on me?

I know my weight (and my over-all health) are things I need to work on, and I want to, but honestly, I have no motivation. I should dust off my weight loss blog, and give another try.

I just rediscovered a charity that I bought from before and really liked. Bead for Life helps women in Uganda earn a living by making beads and beaded jewelry. I have to remember them around the holidays. I know a lot of people that like jewelry, and I'm sure they'll like the stuff from Bead for Life. I'll probably buy some earrings for my mother-in-law, and possibly my sister-in-law too. They're really pretty, and very unique. Check them out when you have time!

I just found out that my pen pal in Australia (SS) is pregnant! (That's 2 pen pals that are currently expecting.) How exciting! Another baby on the way!!

I came across some pictures from Sawyer's College graduation that I want to post - I want this blog to be an accurate representation of my life, but I'm not sure that I want to post faces on my blog. I don't know what to do. I can't figure out how to make individual posts private. If I could do that then I wouldn't mind posting some pictures with faces - or even if I could password protect some posts. I've checked the help section, but couldn't find anything.
